Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Solidworks CAD Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our fabrication process, working closely with our cutting and fabrication team to bring our clients' visions to life. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Solidworks, with a strong emphasis on sheet metal design and weldments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Solidworks software to design custom metal parts, assemblies, and weldments.
- Generate detailed drawings for fabrication and assembly purposes.
- Create corresponding DXF or STEP files, templates, and fixtures as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the cutting and fabrication team to ensure the quality and accuracy of designs.
- Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities, often working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure project timelines are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Solidworks CAD software.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design and weldments.
- Ability to create detailed drawings for fabrication and assembly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to commute to our downtown Riverside facility.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a job shop environment.
- Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, flame cutting, or punching processes.
- Knowledge of press brake forming.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
