Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect to join our client's team in supporting the development and maintenance activities of the CONNECTIONS project. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining New York State’s Automated Child Welfare Information System for OCFS, LDSS, and Voluntary Agencies.
- Participation in requirement and design sessions
- Setting technical direction for the future of the CONNECTIONS application
- Acting as a conduit between technical and non-technical staff, explaining new software/controls/processes
- Serving as a technical lead for interfacing with legacy applications
- Serving as a technical lead for new designs incorporating WPF and WCF functionality
- Establishing UI design standards
- Leading a team of technical staff in conducting reviews to ensure coding standards are adhered to
- Evaluating and selecting 3rd party software to be incorporated into the Connections application
- Mentoring senior developers in the use of MVVM patterns
- Mentoring senior developers in the use of the pre-established development framework for the Connections application
- Developing appropriate system documentation
- Performing reviews of other developers' checked-in WCF, WPF, and .NET code ensuring CONNECTIONS coding standards and practices are observed.
Mandatory Qualifications:

- Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications:
- 84 months of experience designing, developing, and supporting child welfare applications under the SACWIS or CCWIS federal regulations.
- 84 months of experience developing applications using VB.NET and .NET framework 4.0 or above.
- 84 months of experience developing applications using WPF.
- 84 months of experience developing applications using WCF.
- 84 months of experience developing applications using the MVC, MVVM, or similar patterns.
- 84 months of experience using ODP.NET, SQL, PL/SQL, writing stored procedures, functions, packages in a minimum version of Oracle 10g or higher.
- 72 months of experience performing regression and integration testing.
- 60 months of experience writing unit tests using Rhino Mocks.
