NTT DATA, Inc., a top 10 global IT services company, has an immediate need for an "IBM Cognos Software Architect" to support our State Government client in Albany, NY 12207.
This position will provide reporting data analysis and advanced reporting capability for the support of Child Support Data Mart project.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the project manager, core technical team members and other project stakeholders and providing guidance throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Model mission critical reporting requirements in IBM Cognos including all layers of the model and package development and securing models for data level, object level and package access security.
- Create advance level reports using Cognos, which include several pages with conditional formatting and joining multiple queries to produce a single dataset for reports.
- Create business documentation (Business Requirement documents that detail the technical requirements and deliverables for reporting structures, reports, dashboards, and ad hoc tools in accordance with the requirements.
- Work closely with Data Mart team members and various Agency Business Owners to assist in developing logical and physical dimensional data model reporting requirements and providing assistance in understanding the data requirements for proposed reporting.
- Create and execute test scripts, scenarios, and test plans to validate initial business requirements and report output through the DEV, QA and PROD migrations testing for accuracy and sign off on deliverables.
- Mentor State staff and other contract resources as required.
- Provide trouble shooting and end user support and problem resolution as needed.
- Software Architect - Senior (60 - 84) Months: Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system. Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
- 72 Months Experience authoring and maintaining reports using IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 8.4 or higher suite of tools against relational, dimensional, and transactional databases.
- 72 Months Experience using IBM Cognos Framework Manager 8.4 or higher using IBM Cognos best practices to model reporting packages against Oracle databases including administrative functions to create groups and roles, data source connections (including groups).
- 48 Months Experience using Framework Managers and authoring\maintaining reports using IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 10.0 or higher suite of tools against relational, dimensional, and transactional databases.
- 72 Months Experience implementing complex data, object and package security filters within the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence suite of tools using Java based authentication provider and Cognos Groups and Roles.
- 72 Months Experience writing queries using SQL, PL/SQL including tuning SQL within an Oracle environment to ensure timely and efficient execution of queries
- 72 Months Experience developing dimensional data models for Cognos data analytics.
- 72 Months Experience working with PPI and SSA data security requirements (working with data contained in Employee Records in a State Agency, Federal Agency or Private Organization) in a data mart or data warehouse environments.
- 72 Months Experience with Oracle 10/11G databases, Oracle Data Warehouse and Data Marts in a Business Intelligence environment and SQL coding.
- IBM Cognos Framework Manager, Design Metadata Models and Cognos Report Studio, or Author Professional Reports Fundamentals & Advance Certifications.
- Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics, business intelligence, or information science.
