Opportunity for an expert level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our IS Operations team, focusing on the Customer Facing Technologies portfolio. Although not a member of our project delivery organization, this role takes technical lead on production service reliability, resiliency, automation and performance optimization, working alongside our architects, developers and business partners to deliver a great digital customer channel experience.
This position is responsible for production support and performance of all Customer Facing Technologies supported applications and their respective technology platforms and services. Operational Excellence is the goal.
- Responsible for Customer Facing Technologies applications, platform and services.
- Work closely with IT, business partners and software development teams in a matrix organization structure.
- Working in an agile model, focus on automation of tasks to reduce manual work, reduce outages, enhance resiliency and reliability to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Communicate and resolve complex production issues and implement preventative measures.
- Implement and tune monitoring, metric collection and alerting.
- Provide clear and concise process documentation for operations team members.
- Identify opportunity and implement the automation needed to address and prevent operational issues.
- Work with architects and other SREs to drive standards and consistency around best practices.
- Own and manage operational issues from discovery through resolution and prevention efforts.
- Work closely with offshore Operations and SRE teams.
- 5 years of related experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Development or Application Operations.
- Bachelor's in information systems, computer science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services - including API, CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML, HTML5, C#, JavaScript, Kubra hosted Mobile Applications, security principles, REST, SOAP, Meridian software Kiosk services, AFM/OMT and web user interface design.
- Must possess background in application and infrastructure support, with advanced communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages increased responsiveness.
- Advanced scripting via Python focused on monitoring and automation.
- Experience working across multiple technology stacks in primarily a Windows & Linux based highly integrated enterprise environment.
- Experience working with integration tools like Microsoft Biztalk and MuleSoft.
- Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
- Experience leading teams through complex technology incidents and root cause analysis.
- Experience troubleshooting outage management systems during natural weather events.
- Experience with Utility based Artificial Intelligence, specifically the Bidgely (energy analytics) platform.
- Experience with cloud-based Customer Identity and Access Management solutions (LoginRadius).
- Experience with the AWS cloud computing platform.
- Experience with end-to-end CMS Solutions, (Content Management System) SiteCore.
- Experience with SALESFORCE.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting SSL Certificates (Web and Server).
- Ability to work in an on-call basis.
- Other combinations of education or experience may be considered.
- 7 years of related experience in Site Reliability Engineer, Development or Application Operations.
- MBA, MA in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field.
- Experience working with automation and monitoring toolsets – AppDynamics, Splunk and Visual Cron experience preferred.
