JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and keeping record of all inbound and outbound shipments.
Responsibilities
Primary Tasks:
- Communicate with vendors to set up delivery appointments.
- Communicating effectively with shippers, carriers, and their internal team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
- Track activity for product shipped in and out.
- Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers
- Filling out bills of lading, invoices, and other records required for the shipment/delivery of goods.
- Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
- Trouble shoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
- Printing and affixing shipping labels
- Arranging carrier pickups of shipments
- Reporting on damaged shipments
Secondary Tasks:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Training:
- N/A
- Skills:
- Basic user abilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Flexibility in daily hours worked based on workloads.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to follow work instructions and procedures

- Ability to work with and meet deadlines
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Ability to learn and work with Warehouse Management System software
- Aptitude to learn the use of scales, forklift and other production equipment
