Position Purpose:
The purpose of the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is to ensure proper receiving, storing, and distribution of food inventory. The position receives vendor shipments, leads shipping processes, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of various warehouse partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive deliveries from vendors and examine product for accuracy and/or damage. Properly update purchase order to reflect actual product received.
- Lead shipping processes by ensuring quality product is shipped to partners in a timely, accurate manner.
- Quality check incoming and outgoing shipments.
- On a daily basis, guarantee shipments are prepped and ready for next day
- Work with warehouse partners to ensure designated space is properly set up and managed.
- Read and assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets/shelves or relocate orders to a holding area.
- Sort and place items on racks or shelves according to date received.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and forklift equipment to load and off-load freight/products up to 50+ pounds unassisted.
- Assist in the counting of physical inventory.
- Organize and clean warehouse /work area for orderliness at all times.
- Detect and eliminate/minimize safety hazards per policy and procedures.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for visitors, volunteers, and customer traffic.
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” of designated equipment and provide required reports.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy in daily receiving and distribution operations.
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
Job Requirements / Experience & Qualifications:
- Action-oriented with strong attention to detail an accuracy.
- Must be able to successfully operate all gas and electric-powered forklift trucks, as well as manual pallet jacks and other warehouse support equipment, following completion of mandated training.
- One year or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Receiving and/or shipping department experience
- Ability to start workday at 6:30am Monday through Friday and occasionally work weekends (up to two times per month). Will work 4 Day work week, off day will be determined via Manager.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in a climate-controlled warehouse. The work hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm. First Saturdays from 7am-11am (up to two per month) are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form, remember and analyze certain information and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and stand for extended periods of times.

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
