Shipping Coordinator is responsible for physical Preparation of materials for Domestic and International shipments; process Domestic shipments in the JD Edwards ERP Program and collaborate with Logistics specialists providing them the details of International shipments weights and dims, and other packing specifics; assign NOV Approved Carriers for shipments as required; load Carriers as required; Coordinate and communicate with internal departments as well as customers/destinations shipping needs, delivery and other specifics.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all domestic shipments leaving Tuboscope Holmes Rd. facility.
- Ensure all JD Edwards Sales Orders have correct quantities per line item and correct item per stated description.
- Pack all domestic shipments (boxes, pallets, etc.) as appropriate for designated transport mode.
- Process shipments in JD Edwards ERP Program to update Inventory and Order Status.
- Prepare Non JDE Shipments per provided Shipping Information Form.
- Prepare Motor Freight / Hotshot Carrier Bills of Lading; use dedicated UPS Shipping PC.
- Setup / schedule shipments with appropriate Carriers, per urgency of the order (UPS / Hot Shot / Motor Freight / etc.).
- Ensure best option is used, based on cost/transit time according to lane and shipment specifics for FTL/LTL/Hotshot carriers, using company Logistics portal or OTM application.
- Load Trucks using forklift as needed.
- Ensure all shipping info is uploaded into OnBase Program and hard copies filed.
- International Shipments: verify quantity and item accuracy of Orders against provided pick list paperwork, as well as Country of Origin labels/markings on all items, description, and quantity. Ensure shipping labels are applied to all packages. Pack shipments for export with guidance from Logistics department if needed.
- Ensure proper packaging present for hazardous materials shipments or coordinate packing needs with external hazmat packers. Provide proper shipping documents according to mode of transport and DG books for DOT and IATA.
- Assist with Purchase Requisition creation to obtain Purchase Orders for various carriers.
- Available to assist in Receiving as well (Unloading Trucks or signing for big & small parcels) when needed.
- Maintain / Order Shipping Supplies (cartons, tapes, Packing Dunnage) as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift operation experience
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and In-House Programs
- Willingness to learn, undergo training and apply new techniques for efficient work implementation
- Be a good team player and ability to collaborate with colleagues at different departments
- Be ready for change for continuous work improvement, striving for fast and on-time delivery of shipments.
- 2-3 years related experience.
