Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Grand River Assembly on a full-time basis.
The Role:
As a Shift Leader in GA, you will coach, train, develop and evaluate employees. You will provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems and assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Manage salaried group leaders in the implementation and execution of the established business processes
Foster an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork
Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
Administers divisional and Corporate policies
Meets cost, schedule and quality requirements
Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards
Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project
Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision-making accompanied by a high level of independent discernment
Assists in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
Experience leading salaried employees
Experience working with unionized facilities
Production Operations Management experience

5+ years of manufacturing experience
Multi plant experience
GMS expert
Bachelor's degree
