Description
The Role:
The Group Leader will lead the die construction teams, including CNC large machines, small machines, die assembly, global die buy-off, welders and verification. Work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to root cause and follow issues to resolution – as well as sharing and using lessons learned from peer groups. This role requires the ability to use independent discernment. The Group Leader will lead & support GMS activities in their department as well as site. This leadership role will have employee engagement, technical skill development and continuous improvement as central theme.
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Flint plant on a full-time basis.
This role is 2nd shift. Typical work schedule is 2:30PM-10:30PM, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday's.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements
Frequently contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
Train and develop represented employees
Lead technical guidance for complex process and projects
Provide direction and development to team and implement new tools and technics for the best method for manufacturing processes
Contact with partners outside the work group such as participation in strategic planning
Evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
Evaluate CAD/CAM data
Work with Problem Solving tools
Perform employee time keeping within Kronos application
TMaCs daily updates (charging work hours, control the forecast vs expent and control the variances)
Work with Technical Specialist and Subject Matter Experts to implement lessons learned

Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
4 years in Die business
Experience in Die construction process, such as machining, assembly, and verification
Experience in CNC Machine technologies
Experience in CAD/CAM software (NX and TEBIS)
Knowledge of Problem-solving methodologies
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to manipulate 3D models in NX to complete measurements and tool investigation
Exceptional communication and presentation skills – solid background with MS Office
Working level knowledge of the following systems / processes:
GVDP (Global Vehicle Development Process)
G-Comply, GDHS,
Change Management
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills leading cross functional teams
SOP (Safety operation procedure)
Effective at dealing with change and ambiguity
Tenacity to thrive in a challenging environment
Ability to lead hourly represented employees
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, lean manufacturing, or related
4+ years of Tool and Die shop
4+ years CNC technologies
4+ years of experience in Dies construction process
Leadership experience
