As a Senior Service Center Representative, you will provide couples with their marriage license, process a new driver's first permit, and help residents understand their real estate tax payments. Every day, our Service Centers process hundreds of transactions and each one is unique to the customer. Location and hours:
This position is located at the Ridgedale Service Center on 12601 Ridgedale Drive, Minnetonka, MN 55305 . Work hours will be Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This schedule may change in the future or include additional evening hours, depending on business needs. This position requires working face-to-face with the public on-site. Based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
- Provide the following list of services: marriage applications, licenses and certificates (including same-sex and opposite-sex marriages); driver's licenses, permits and IDs; motor vehicle tabs, plates, titles and registrations; water craft, snowmobile and ATV registrations; birth and death certificates; hunting and fishing licenses; auctioneer, transient merchant, lawful gambling, liquor licenses, and precious metals dealers; notary services and notary commission filings; cross country ski licenses; marriage officiant filings; voter registration; and real estate tax payments.
- Prepare, process, and sell a variety of licenses, permits, registrations, certificates, and applications for county and state agencies.
- Collect data for daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports and accounting functions; assist in maintaining inventory records for licenses.
- Provide work direction and training to staff, carry out delegated responsibilities in the absence of supervisors, and assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Answer technical transaction questions and resolve customer complaints.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Two years or more of experience as a Service Center Representative.
- Two years or more of experience performing public sector Service Center transactions.
- Three years or more of customer service experience.
- Note: Completion of an approved business school or relevant technical college program may be substituted for up to two years of the required customer service experience.
- The ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
Nice to have:
- Experience:
- Processing driver's licenses and/or motor vehicle renewals.
- Providing face-to-face customer service in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Handling money or processing payments.
- Processing daily office reports for a Service Center.
- Completing daily deposits for a Service Center.
- Opening and closing a Service Center.
- Ability to understand laws, policies, rules, and regulations relating to Service Center transactions.

Hennepin County Service Centers partners with the State of Minnesota to provide driver's license/ID, motor vehicle registration, birth, death, and marriage records, marriage license, snowmobile/ATV/boat registration, and a variety of other public services to residents. Locations include Maple Grove, Brookdale, Ridgedale, Southdale, Midtown, Government Center, and North Minneapolis Service Centers. Support areas include Vital Records, Call Center/Remote Processing, and Learning and Development Units.

Under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Minnesota Statutes 171.017 requirements, and as Hennepin County's Service Center employees issue driver's licenses and identification cards, Minnesota law requires applicants to undergo a background check including fingerprinting conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Certain offenses are considered disqualifying; those are listed in Code of Federal Regulations, title 49, section 1572.103.
