Server/Bartender

Bombay Bicycle Club has been a San Antonio favorite for almost 50 years. We are a family-owned neighborhood bar and grill and we pride ourselves on consistently providing our customers with fresh, delicious American fare with quality ingredients at a great value. Our busy restaurant and bar has a bustling lunch and fun and friendly happy hour and evening crowd that allows us to offer our staff consistent (fixed) shifts and a competitive income. We provide a fun and supportive team atmosphere with a small family of staff, many who have been with us for years and are in the process of opening our second location in Hemisfair park. We are currently hiring for an experienced Bartender/Server for shifts at one or both locations.

Description of role:
Here at Bombay Bicycle Club we value self motivated people who want to grow both personally and professionally. Currently we are seeking an individual who is both knowledgeable and skilled as a bartender with a minimum of 1 year experience (high volume, full service bar/restaurant) with the ability and willingness to also work floor serving shifts as needed. Flexible availability is preferred and weekend availability is a must. Bombay continues to grow, join us and so will you.

What we are looking for in our ideal candidate:
-Commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to uphold all Bombay Standards
-Proven working history as a bartender with knowledge in craft cocktails, beer, wine and spirits
-Positive attitude and team player with a willingness to assist floor staff on shift as well as willingness to work serving shifts on an occasional/as needed basis.
-Excellent communications skills and a friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to engage in conversation and provide a positive experience for regular and new customers
-Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and an organized bartop and workspace
-Possess natural leadership abilities to be able to address customer issues
Ability to direct floor staff as needed and monitor the guest experience throughout the establishment.
-Good time-management and multitasking skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently during periods of high volume
-Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of reliability

Responsibilities:
-Contributes to overseeing the preparation and presentation of all drinks in accordance to Bombay’s recipes and standards
-Able to provide fast, efficient and engaging service to both bartop and restaurant patrons.
-Maintain a cleanly work space in times of both slow and high volume
-Preps and prepares fresh juices, batched beverages and syrups as needed
-Helps monitor quality control of service on shift, beverages and food
-Works collaboratively in a team environment with both front of house, kitchen and management.
-Maintain a professional demeanor and polished image as the most visible staff person in the bar/restaurant
-Physical demands of the job include but are not limited to:
Standing and walking during entire 8-hour shift
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour and carry supplies
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds in weight on a semi regular basis

Pay and Frequency:
-Direct Deposit every 2 weeks
-Average of $20-$25/hr with hourly and tips

Availability requirements: We are currently looking for someone with daytime and weekend availability.

Dress Code: Uniform top with black pants. Please know that facial piercings or tattoos, nose rings, multiple ear (more than 4) piercings, piercings larger than 1/4 inch in diameter, visible body piercings, ear gauges larger than 1 inch in diameter, ear tunnels, chain ear cuffs and chain ear piercing jewelry are not permitted.
