Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the Train Management & Control (TMAC) and Positive Train Control (PTC) systems with an emphasis on network and Linux Administration.
- Configure and maintain Cisco switches (VLANs, Trunks, SPAN ports) and Cisco ASA Firewalls (Site-to-site VPNs, ACLs, and NAT translation).
- Write Python code for database maintenance and problem solving/investigation.
- Provide support for TMAC/PTC end users.
- Flexible to work varied schedules as directed and available to respond on short notice if needed.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related area, from US Department of Education, accredited college, or university.
- One (1) year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
- Experience with bare-metal hypervisors (VMWare ESXi a plus)
- Experience with OpenVPN
- Experience with LAMP stacks
- Familiarity with industrial control protocols (Modbus, DNP3)
- Any working knowledge of railroad operations and railroad signaling systems
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- CCNA, CompTIA Linux+
- Strong Python skills
- SQL database administration experience (Oracle)
