- Interact with team to ensure a clear understanding of project timelines, test scheduling, product tracking, and other deliverables. Attend project meetings as needed.
- Support panel preparation including making up references and other sample preparation, setting up the panel rooms for panel training, serving references/samples and preparing ad hoc samples as needed.
- Support Sensory Test execution: Set up of lab, test areas, data collection software; prep and serve samples, provide verbal instructions to panelists, clean and reset test areas.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized lab, storage, and testing environment/equipment by supporting glassware washing, cleaning, and sorting and storing glassware as well as laundry; Responsible for keeping iPads and laptops up to date as needed.
- Tracking inventory of supplies for testing and execution, ordering supplies as needed or going shopping to procure supplies; ensuring there are scanned receipts for all items. Communicating with the client in reference to shipping/receiving and product returns.
- Develop and enhance skills in trained consumer sensory panel leadership in training, calibration, and testing; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Assist team in executing panel performance measurement plan including but not limited to implementing calibration/validation exercises and providing panelists performance feedback.
- Support study reporting with data entry, graphing, photographing samples, and editing presentations as needed.
- Support special projects including, but not limited to, product screening, coordinating department meetings, setting up new procedures and documenting protocols.
- Actively participate on technical team offering suggestions, making recommendations and assuming responsibility as needed.
- Demonstrated laboratory experience and knowledge of lab best practices e.g., as Lab Technician or completion of college/university laboratory courses.
- Must be comfortable working with chemical solutions, preparing stock solutions and performing dilutions as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote
- Sensory Data collections software experience preferred (e.g., RedJade, Compusense, FIZZ, EyeQuestion, etc.)
- Takes initiative in technical problem solving.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Able to work autonomously and under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation: Ability to drive to pick up samples from other R&D locations and shop supplies for sensory panels.
- Ability to work and stand for long periods of time in a lab environment
- Ability to lift weights up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to use computer keyboard
- Visual ability to read computer monitor and precise measurements
