Job Duties:

Dental Lab & Sterilization Technician responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Cleaning and sterilization of all equipment per OSHA compliance/requirements.

- Daily and weekly integrated and spore testing.

- Maintaining all equipment (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly).

- Ordering and management of dental supplies and building maintenance supplies (ie: toilet paper, etc).

- Assist hygiene team with perio screenings (when needed).

- Laundering towels and Doctor scrubs.

- OSHA compliance officer/maintain OSHA training records.

- Manage yearly OSHA and HIPAA training/meeting for all staff.

Dental Assisting responsibilities:

Dental Assistants have a wide range of job duties including patient care, office, and laboratory duties, and work chairside as the Dentist examines and treats patients. Dental Assistants help patients to feel comfortable in the dental chair during procedures and after care. Dental Assistants assist the Dentist in every aspect of the dental procedure.

Duties consist of organizing the treatment room for dental procedures and helping the dentist during dental treatments.

Some specific Dental Assisting job duties may include:

· Answering patient questions before an appointment

· Preparing patients for dental procedure by making them feel comfortable and providing any instructions.

· Preparing the dental exam room for use by the dentist by making sure it is stocked and organized.

· Assisting the dentist with procedures, including passing instruments, getting supplies, and using the suction tube to keep the patient’s mouth dry.

· Taking Dental x-rays

· Dental lab work / taking alginate impressions, pouring models, fabricating custom trays, etc.

· Instructing patients on dental hygiene and proper care of dental appliances.

· Scheduling follow-up appointments

· Charting patient procedures in clinical notes

· Checking patient vitals

· Assist with same day crown procedures / assist in design.

EDUCATION

· High school diploma

· Graduation from a Dental Assisting program is a plus.

· Good communication skills

· Basic knowledge of computers

· Eagerness to learn on the job as most expertise is gained there.
