Job Description
Summary: In accordance with established lending policies and procedures the SBA Director will be involved in all phases of the SBA lending process and will be responsible for directing / managing all information required by USCB, SBA the LSP and counsel to properly process and close commercial government guaranteed loans; coordinate with LSP all Secondary Market Sales, and proper monitoring and servicing of the portfolio, including Audits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The SBA Director is responsible for providing quality customer service while overseeing that Government Guarantee loans are evaluated, processed, closed and disbursed according to the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The SBA Director will be involved in communication with clients, the LSP, government entities and other third parties (e.g., insurance agents, attorneys, CPA’s etc.), exercising discretion and judgment. This position requires participation in and contribution to weekly departmental and pipeline meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Business Lenders and Business Development Officer’s to promote the SBA programs.
- Participates as deemed necessary on potential SBA customers visits with the Bank's sales team to educate borrower on SBA process, structure, and set expectations.
- Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of the SBA eligibility, SOPs, and ongoing changes by staying actively involved in NAGGL and other forms of SBA trainings.
- Assists, as deemed necessary, in the prescreening of proposals to determine eligibility per SOP, and structure SBA loan proposals.
- Assists, as deemed necessary with SBA forms, complete the packaging, processing, and submission of the application to LSP and/or Credit.
- Develop expertise in use of Bank loan systems. Ensures that all documents required for the credit approval of the loan transaction are uploaded to Automated pipeline and LSP.
- Works closely and directly with the LSP, Lender and/or BDO to ensure that due diligence is completed based on deadlines, submits file to BSA and is available to answer questions about the loan and the customer which allows the credit officer to become comfortable with the request.
- Coordinates with the LSP to ensure that all SBA documents are packaged.
- Oversees the SBA loan portfolio servicing process, currently outsourced to a third-party provider, to ensure accuracy and up to date tickler items collection and review.
- Participate in civic and community activities to promote the SBA Program and the Bank.
- Responsible for compliance with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations related to this position.
