Where the Chemistry Happens
Our team is looking to add a motivated Senior Technology Engineer to our technical support tam at our Freeport, TX site. In this role, you will contribute to the long-term economic success of the plants via automation, process optimization, process safety, capital projects, and troubleshooting. The role involves working with a broad range of people, including members of the operations team, laboratory services, EHS, process controls group, and engineering to accomplish business goals.
As a Senior Technology Engineer you create chemistry by...

• Working with process control personnel to develop and implement automation solutions. The strategy would include improvements to alarm management, basic process control via the DCS, and optimization of the HMI.
• Learning the manufacturing process and its chemistry to serve as the focal point for the future development of the process. Activities may include working with the global technology group on plant tests, initiating plant modifications, comparing operating data, troubleshooting plant problems, etc.
• Identifying and tracking key operating parameters, facilitating data collection and evaluation of benchmarks, leading teams to identify optimization opportunities, and validating/tracking ideas that are implemented.
• Maintaining the plant safety concept, facilitating PHAs, managing Process Safety Information (PSI), completing MOCs for proposed changes, and supporting Capital project safety reviews.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Your formula for success...

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or other technical engineering field
• Strong understanding of Process Engineering concepts and their applications.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ and other applicable code and regulations and standards.
• Practical experience in process control, field equipment and DCS/PLC Control Systems as well as plant troubleshooting.
• Must have good communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization, and demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead teams
