Senior Technical Writer

ANDERSEN is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to contribute to a project that is building a logically robust solution to content consistency.

• United States Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Prior experience working at Microsoft as an FTE or contractor
• 10+ years technical writing experience
• Ability to learn and grow – teachability
• Experience with markdown and HTML
• Experience with GitHub

Responsibilities:

• Organize, edit, and maintain technical records and files for the Learn Content Pattern program.
• Create writer-facing pattern documentation according to existing standards and processes.
• Revise writer-facing documentation for consistency and alignment to model (i.e., standardize language in problem definitions and map that to pattern solution language)
• Create and revise pattern program documentation.
• Design/develop new patterns across modalities.
• Collaborate with Technical Writers who want to provide new patterns to help them through the process.
• Create program communications with a defined cadence.
• Help define new patterns and identify distinctions between existing patterns to extend and refine the pattern model.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiar with Christopher Alexander's Pattern Language, Robert Horn's information types, semantic content models
• Familiarity with data serialization formats such as XML, JSON, and YAML
• Experience with markdown and HTML
• Experience with GitHub
• Experience publishing on the Microsoft Learn platform.
• Experience preparing wireframes and technical diagrams

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in creating effective documentation for a technical audience.
• Experience in creating effective training for a technical audience.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to read some programming code.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly establish a systems-level grasp of the pattern program.
• Identify and help resolve gaps in model logic.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
