Job Description:
We are seeking both Mid-Level and Senior Technical Writers to join our team and provide comprehensive documentation support for FEMA Public Assistance projects. The ideal candidates will have experience in technical writing, particularly in documenting FEMA Public Assistance program requirements, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation, including program policies, procedures, guidelines, manuals, and training materials related to FEMA Public Assistance programs.
- Research, gather, and analyze information from various sources, including FEMA regulations, guidelines, and technical documents, to develop comprehensive and user-friendly documentation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, program managers, and stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Review and edit existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to established standards and guidelines.
- Manage documentation projects from conception to completion, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Conduct reviews and quality assurance checks on documentation deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with program requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and clients on documentation best practices and standards.
- Stay current with FEMA Public Assistance program updates, changes, and developments to ensure documentation remains relevant and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a government or disaster recovery context.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
