EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Required Education
- Post secondary degree in Engineering.
Sr. Technical Sales Engineer – CORE COMPETENCIES
- 5+ years of proven sales or technical support experience
- 5+ years of proven Engineering experience
- Availity to travel
- Ability to read and create schematics, pcb layout files, etc
- Ability to read datasheets and understand requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software related problems
- Ability to work with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with one or more programming languages is an asset
- Familiarity with XMC, VPX, Nvidia, OpenVPX, FPGA, AMD, PCIe, GPU and other standards is an asset
- Familiarity with I2C and other serial protocols is an asset
- Knowledge of SOSA, CMOSS, VICTORY and other standards is an asset
- Familiarity with lab equipment and procedures (i.e. oscilloscope, power supply, DMM, etc) is an asset
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, strong business acumen and a self-starter
- Existing contacts and relationships within the defense and aerospace industries
- US Citizenship required
- Military Service is an asset
- Secret certification is an asset
Sr. Technical Sales Engineer – FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide pre-sales technical support to prospective clients.
- Support Sales Team with customer conference calls
- Create and maintain hardware manuals.
- Manage a list of clients from support through sales cycle to closed business.
- Meet tight deadlines to respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Work to understand end-user applications and associated technology requirements, including, but not limited to, system architecture block diagrams, schematics and their synergistic associated component technologies.
- Create detailed proposals and written documentation.
- Provide product, service, and technical engineering information, responding to tough questions and requests.
- Identify potential customers and create new accounts, collecting data and organizing information, planning, and scheduling appointments for sales calls.
- Prepare cost estimates by studying Bill of Materials (BOM) plans and related customer documents while consulting with engineers and other professional and technical personnel.
- Contribute to CRM and forecast by completing the necessary pipeline, data entry and lead management.
- Consult directly with existing and potential new customers (high-level technical people) in all phases of the sales and account management life cycle.
- Attend trade shows and conferences as a representative of WOLF to promote products and establish new business relationships.
- Evaluate customer’s current technical capabilities and conduct a needs assessment, including platforms, hardware, operating systems, and more.
- Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and current customers and other persons able to understand their service requirements.
- Additional duties as assigned.
CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP, JCP and ITAR requirements.
