Position: SeniorStaff Accountant
Position Summary
Job Duties
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple properties, including month end close and reconciliation process for accrual basis financial statements. This person will work closely with the Assistant Controller as well as resident managers and regional managers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Manage month-end close and reconciliation process for accrual basis financial statements.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements.
- Review daily cash balances and needs and approve cash disbursements.
- Review rent roll for accuracy. Follow up with Property Manager for any corrections.
- Review and track all financial deadlines including both financial preparation, loan payments, taxes, and insurance.
- Prepare additional financial reports as needed.
- Manage and coach Junior Accountant and ensure they are fulfilling their job duties.
Qualifications
While we are proud to offer on-the-job training for all positions, we prefer you to start with the following experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with three years’ plus similar experience.
- Experience in preparing financial statements.
- Posting accruals and recurring journal entries.
- Bank reconciliation for multiple accounts.
- Yardi experience is a plus.
- Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, 10 key, internet search, math, Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 including Word, Excel, Excel Pivot tables and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening. (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management).

Compensation
- Base Pay Start Rate: $80,000-$90,000 per hour (DOE).
