Overview
We are seeking a motivated an experienced Accounting Analysis and Reporting Analyst to join our Accounting Analysis and Reporting team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling investment portfolios, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports for management amongst others. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in an accounting role, preferably at a bank or financial institution.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Accounting Analysis and Reporting team in the delivery of operational agenda in various areas, including but not limited to investments (securities, tax credit investments, other equity investments), consolidation, and subsidiary entities
- Participate in the month end close process, including the reconciliation and certification of general ledger account balances and the preparation/review of journal entries
- Perform analysis on monthly and quarterly general ledger accounts and financial statements
- Support the preparation/review of financial statements and various supporting schedules for 10-Q, 10-K, or other regulatory filings
- Prepare/review monthly Board pages, including schedules that support the monthly Board package
- Prepare/review various banking regulatory reports, such as the quarterly Call and FRY Report schedules
- Prepare/review various schedules and reports for internal users and external auditors, and assist in the audit process including updating SOX control narratives for relevant processes
- Analyze draft/newly released regulations and accounting pronouncements to assess accounting impact, as well as collaborate with treasury, financial reporting, operations or other teams to support effective transition to new regulation/standards
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and enhancement projects as needed
Qualifications
- CPA license or MBA preferred
- At least three years of public accounting and/or public company accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts
- Strong analytical, technical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Ability to navigate complex problems in non-standardized situations
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Banking/financial institution experience preferred
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
