Celerity Consulting Group, LLC. is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in our Northern California team, this is a remote eligible (work from home) position.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, AP, AR, taxes, reporting, auditing and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but are not limited to:
GENERAL LEDGER/CLOSE/AP/AR/TAXES/OTHER
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Code and enter A/P invoices, maintain vendor files
- Assist with A/R management, monitoring aging, billing & collections, etc.
- Work with vendors to ensure proper account setups and resolve issues
- Process employee expense reports
- Post unbilled revenue and revenue write off journals
- Maintain the fixed assets and depreciation accounts
- Maintain all prepaid accounts and amortize on a timely basis
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly
- Monitor, review accounts payable items for unusual activity
- Monitor and review accounts receivable items for unusual activity
- Review and reconcile pass-through expenses
- Assist with monthly forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Perform General Ledger account analysis as assigned
- Provide support with other accounting functions as assigned
- Manage ACH transactions
- Assist with registration, income reporting, and receipts to appropriate jurisdictions where company has nexus
- Maintain the tax calendar and timely filing of tax returns
- Assist with the yearly budget process
- Assist with month-end close process
- Credit card reconciliation
- Run weekly AP and AR ageing reports
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial package
- Prepare chargeability reports
- Prepare and/or assist in preparation of billing reports
- Reconcile billing report to the income statement
- Assist with the preparation of the annual audit schedules, analyzes and reports
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations and to help maintain accurate and timely financial reporting and data collection.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
- CPA (highly desired)
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
- Ideally has experience with NetSuite and OpenAir
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong team orientation and effective interpersonal skills
