Asuragen is seeking an experienced scientist with a life science master’s degree who can work as part of our clinical laboratory development team. This position will support our Companion Diagnostics (CDx) operations in developing, validating, and executing high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing. They will act as a liaison between our internal operations team and our pharmaceutical partners to transfer existing and/or develop new nucleic acid and protein-based assays. Responsibilities will include creating design and development plans, investigating suitable platforms based on project needs, and coordinating all aspects of feasibility, development, and validation efforts. Platforms used in our laboratory include quantitative real-time PCR, digital PCR, capillary electrophoresis, fluorometry, and next-generation sequencing.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development of new test offerings that extend market share with a focus on familiarization, guard-banding, assay transfer, and validation efforts.
- Write SOPs and validation plans within our Quality System.
- Participate in laboratory environment and instrument cleaning, maintenance, and monitoring activities.
- Develop an expertise in effective utilization of design control processes and relevant guidance documents to complete project and drive implementation.
- Actively solicit and verify input from diverse group of stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Create best practices for information dissemination and tracking to foster team communication.
- Initiate and maintain external relationships to drive projects and new business opportunities.
- Contributes substantially to laboratory management activities (purchasing, maintenance, inventory)
- Cross-train to learn all aspects of current test offerings.

- A minimum of 3 years of previous laboratory experience required.
- Previous experience with PCR, qPCR, ELISA, and/or NGS assay performance, analysis, and design preferred.
