Summary
The Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Research Operations Associate with interests in serious illness health services research, quantitative and qualitative methods to lead the day-to-day Research Operations for the research program of the Section’s Chief. This role will be responsible for the planning and execution of research projects including the current portfolio of two CPRIT funded projects related to cancer survivorship.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Job Duties
- Plans, coordinates and executes research projects.
- Ensures that study activities are carried out in accordance with sponsor and institutional requirements.
- Oversees the research portfolio including identifying and addressing obstacles and program operational issues, setting and managing timelines, analyzing and allocating resources, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation, organizing and delegating tasks, monitoring project goals, deliverables, budgets, and other responsibilities necessary to assure successful completion of the research protocol.
- Trains, directs and supervises research staff and trainees.
- Manages IRB protocols and submissions.
- Prepares progress and final scientific reports for submission to sponsors.
- Oversees project plans and objectives with external collaborators and sub-sites.
- Assists in the development of manuscripts, posters, and other scholarship related to funded projects.
- Oversees data registries, including ensuring the quality and completeness of research data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.
