Senior Quality Engineer (New Health Care Company)
3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Provides quality assurance engineering support for Liquids & Actives Hand Hygiene products including specification and design control, change management, stability studies, test method validations, investigations, and continuous improvement.
- Supports Supplier Qualification activities including: Supplier Qualification Plans, Quality Agreements, Commercial Supplier Standards, CoAs, SCARs, and Drug Product batch record review.
- Leads Post Market product support: complaint analysis/trending, stability studies, risk management updates.
- Leads investigations, corrective action responses, trending and monitoring for nonconforming materials, complaints, and supplier issues.
- Interacts with other 3M facilities and outside suppliers to ensure product quality and performance.
- Drives existing product quality enhancement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as: Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE), Customer Quality Index (CQI) and Quality at the Source.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND five (5) years of Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Combination Product experience in Quality, Laboratory, or R&D functions in a private, public, government or military environment
OR
- High School Diploma/GED from AND (9) years of Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Combination Product experience in Quality, Laboratory, or R&D functions in a private, public, government or military environment
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- Three (3) years experience supporting Pharmaceutical products
- Two (2) years experience as a Quality Engineer
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Previous experience working in a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated device or drug environment.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis tools and techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of statistical and Quality Engineering tools such as exploratory data analysis, basic statistics, Gage R&R, Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control and Capability, acceptance sampling, correlation and regression, and experimental design.
- Demonstrated successful organizational influence in areas including, but not limited to, compliance excellence, continuous improvement, product-related risk mitigation, and/or manufacturing process capability improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide diligent, concise, and fact-based communication to Executive Management, and cross-functional peers
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills with the demonstrated ability to create momentum and deliver results in a timely manner by prioritizing personal workloads

Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood at least 1 days per week)

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
