Astellas is announcing a Sr. Project Manager, Technical Operations opportunity at their Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.
Purpose:
This role provides project management expertise for projects, programs, and business processes within the Technical Operations Project Management department. The position works closely with Senior leaders and Program Leads to advance cell therapy programs.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provides project management expertise to projects and programs; creates tracks and updates schedules and action items for multiple project teams.
- Works with clients to ensure deliverables fall within applicable scope and budget.
- Drives the development and maintenance of cross-functional CMC development plans that align with program team objectives.
- Provides CMO contract and vendor management for clinical supply. Coordinates an internal project team to manage external vendor deliverables.
- Creates and uses project tools and templates that support the communication and management of complex deliverables
- Provide PM expertise to the Technical Operations department and sub teams as needed
- Establishes and maintains share sites as needed
- Supports business processes within the AIRM TO department (ex.My Buy and My Contract system support).
Quantitative Dimensions:
This role will support the TO Project Management department. As additional products move through the lifecycle, they are transferred into the TO PM department from Research PM. The PM position supports the growth of the PM team.
Organizational Context:
This role report will report to the Director of Strategic Program Management, Technical Operations and does not hold direct reports.

Qualifications:
Required:
- BA/BS with 7+ years related experience or MS and 3+ years related experience
- Professional command of MS Project, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Adaptability to thrive in an environment of continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills, including all levels of management both locally and globally
- Ability to work independently with limited direction
- Ability to multi-task
Preferred:
- 5 years’ experience with global projects within Technical Operations in the biopharma industry, including exposure to GMP
- Experience or exposure to CMC lifecycle within cell therapy and /or biologics
- Experience preparing for regulatory filings and interactions (filings for INTERACT, pre-IND, IND, BLA, etc.)
- CAPM or PMP credential, or working toward PMP credential
