Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager is an experienced Project Manager, preferably in the marine new construction industry, and will be responsible for managing a team whose combined objective is developing project plans, schedules, and deliverables, directing all project phases, and acting as primary contact on projects. He/ She ensures that goals and objectives are accomplished within described time frame and funding parameters through project team members and organizational stakeholders. Projects may vary in length with varying degrees of complexity and will encompass the following major components: planning, staffing, implementation, control, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Acts as primary liaison between customer, project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and internal company personnel.
- Establishes a project management process that ensures overall quality of the boat components, consistent with their selection engineering and manufacturing approach.
- Defines and creates project plans considering time frame, funding limitations, staffing regulations, resource availability, and customer contractual requirements.
- Manages development of project execution strategy including planning, scheduling, staffing needs, vendor and subcontractor support requirement, contractual requirements.
- Ensures compliance with overall Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in cooperation with the Safety Department.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority; provides or facilitates technical advice and problem resolution support.
- Monitors, leads, and troubleshoots the working process.
- Coaches, mentors, motivates, and directs project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their work to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Ensures company performance against contractual commitments with customer and ensures customer satisfaction with projects.
- Working within supply chain process to, source and negotiate key subcontracts and vendors.
- Generates project status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Uses financial reporting, trend and variance analyses and other performance measures to analyze project performance, aiming to improve project success and mitigate risk.
- Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools and prepares project reports for management, customer, or others to ensure appropriate project cadence.
- Evaluates project upon close-out and documents lessons learned.
- Responsible for tracking and submitting ECP (Engineering Change Proposals) and RFV (Request for Variants).
- Responsible for making sure that all testing is being completed and documented.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Project management experience is required. Project management experience in new boat construction is preferred. Direct management experience is required, preferably within a shipyard or boat building or in the maritime industry.
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience with experience in project management.
Physical requirements
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Able to work in a manufacturing environment which includes moderate noise exposure, occasionally climbing up steep stairs/steps, walking for moderate periods of time over even and uneven terrain, reaching forward, overhead, and to the sides, etc. Must have listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures for limited amounts of time. Work in areas at times that are not environmentally controlled. Able to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.
