The Boston Public Health Commission in partnership with Community -Based Health Centers and localCommunity- Based Organizations to develop and support the operation of a Neighborhood Trauma Team Networkin the Boston communities of Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and East Boston. This network offersa continuum of services for community members impacted by community gun violence including:
- Immediate in-home, on-scenes and community-based services for survivors of gun violence and theirimmediate family members and friends.
- Prompt planning and implementation of efforts to meet community needs for healing.
- Availability of behavioral health and related supportive services as needed.
Neighborhood Trauma Team network members also partner throughout the service delivery process with the BostonPublic Health Commission, the Boston Police Department, Boston Center for Youth and Families, hospitals, andother community-based organizations. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for Network protocoldevelopment/improvements and management, to ensure a consistent and equitable approach to trauma response and
recovery services in the city of Boston, as well as all training and capacity building efforts.
In addition, this position will lead and/or co-lead monthly networking meeting to elevate successes and gaps inservice, codify best practices and identify skill drift and/or staff and network members training needs.
The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the Capacity Building and Training Initiative to develop andimplement core training competencies for the Network.
DUTIES
- Assess, identify, and develop training and capacity building opportunities to ensure that all Network staffcan effectively perform their scope of work.
- Ensure all NTTN training includes a trauma-informed lens.
- Develop Leadership Trainings for the entire network to promote professional development internally and externally.
- Manage protocols to ensure consistency in approach across teams and neighborhoods. Lead the development of aManual of Procedures to memorialize program practices.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of a coaching framework for NTTN partners including developing train the trainers.
- Provide on-going technical assistance and coaching to community partners participating in the NTTN around:violence prevention, trauma informed recovery and care services and trauma informed systems change and sustainability.
- Facilitate the development of core competencies related to the NTTN's core services and program protocols.
- Develop and implement trauma informed assessments for all Neighborhood Trauma Teams (NTTN).
- Design and implement an evidence-based learning community, training, and technical assistance model for theNTTN including development of technical assistance around prevention, community support services, trauma treatment and care for residents, and ongoing training in evidence-based trauma treatment models Identify challenges and gaps in services, codify best practices and improve the quality and consistency of NTTN services.
- Support the Development and implementation of all Neighborhood Trauma Team response and service deliveryprotocols. Ensure integration and implementation of a racial justice and equity lens into all training and programs.
- Manage training budget and coordinate with Operations Manager to fulfill budget requests.
- Meets regularly with Program Director regarding NTTN operations, including but not limited to confidentialmatters
- Required to participate in on call rotation.
- Performs other duties that may arise
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of professional experience or bachelor's degree with 4 years' experience or master's degree in a relevant field(e.g., social work, public health, emergency management) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in incident management, crisis response, or emergency management, preferably in a community based-setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and support a diverse team ofprofessionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a widerange of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Familiarity with community-based organizations, social services, and resources available for individuals affected byviolence, trauma, or crisis.
- Experience in program planning, development, and evaluation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Proficiency in data management, reporting, and analysis.
- Flexibility to respond to incidents and emergencies outside of regular business hours, as needed.
- Promote health equity, inclusion, and diversity within the BPHC, department and community.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants ofhealth, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
PREFERRED OR PLUS
- 2 years of demonstrated formal or informal social justice advocacy experience and/or communityorganizing/mobilization experience.
