About the Job
Manages employees and operations of wastewater treatment plant, landfill gas operations, and onsite leachate duties. Position will travel to the different landfill's within the VA/MD area and may need to travel to WV or Western PA.
What You'll be Doing
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
  • Manages waste water treatment supervisors and daily field operations to maintain optimum treatment unit throughput at each deployed treatment unit. Oversees individual treatment units to ensure all necessary resources required to accomplish treatment activities are organized and scheduled.
  • Manage and implement standards relating to the protection, control, and management of landfill gas. Additional areas of responsibility includes management and evaluation of landfill gas, gas condensate, etc. when they are a threat to air quality and/or renewable energy projects.
  • Ensures maintenance plan being followed for each treatment unit
  • Ensures water quality standards are adhered to at each treatment unit deployed. May involve taking samples in the field and providing data to management.
  • Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Responsible for hiring/termination, compensation, and promotional decisions for employees.
  • Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Assembles and analyzes data. Tests and monitors results and creates appropriate reports.
  • Serves as a liaison between plant and vendors, contractors, management, security, and others.
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
  • Participates in the strategy and approval of the operating and capital budget for GCCS as well as procurement and distribution of landfill gas conveyance equipment and materials.
  • Plan, organize and manage GCCS design, construction and operations and under senior management direction, work toward predetermined goals and objectives.
  • Plan organize and manage leachate system design, construction and operations

What does it take to be a Senior Processing Manager with WM?
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Experience: 7 years of experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • Previous Electrical background
  • Knowledge of Electrical Codes
  • Basic knowledge of Industrial Automation Controls

Preferred Skills
  • Experience around Landfill systems and pumps
