WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
This individual will be responsible for oversight of the entire breadth of paralegal operational support for BRE Hotels (85% of the time), with the remainder focused on Legal Operations support and Claims support. This position is based out of Revantage's headquarters in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
HOW YOU ADD VALUE
Operational Focus:
- Assist with hotel operations contract drafting
- Assist with hotel manager transitions
- Document handling & abstracting
- Structure chart and financing per property updating
- Handle operations agreements
- Liquor License and trademark matters
- Assist with / handle vehicle title issues
- Permit application reviews and obtaining signatures (unloading all docs into DocuSign)
- File contracts and other asset docs
- Coordinate with Legal Operations Director to identify, collect and manage metrics and dashboards helpful to BRE management team
- POAs as needed
Construction:
- Assist with construction contract drafting and change order preparation
- Keep up with heavy filing requirements
- Coordinate execution of agreements
Claims Management:
- Handle franchisor and manager correspondence re claims
- Log claims into Origami and ensure accuracy and updates
- Correspond re select service claims
- Review & summarize releases
- Connect claim adjusters and counsel with asset managers and property level contacts
- Implement a legal hold process
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate
- Minimum 12 years of experience in a law firm or equivalent in-house position working as a paralegal on complex real estate transactions
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Strong drafting, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong aptitude to learn and master technology
- Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
