SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) - BAY AREA DISTRICT / MOUNT TAMALPAIS STATE PARK
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).
The Senior Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) position will work under the Supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or designee. Primary duties are located at Mount Tamalpais State Park but may be required to work in all other units within the Bay Area District. The reporting location for this position is the Maintenance Shop located at 3801 Panoramic Hwy, Mill Valley CA 94941.
Primary duties include safely performing routine maintenance, various housekeeping tasks necessary to ensure public health and Department standards. Coordinates and leads garbage collection, equipment maintenance, maintenance of roads, trails, and grounds. Incumbent may be required to operate vehicles and various types of small equipment. May train lower-level seasonal employees and may assist permanent maintenance workers in unskilled maintenance tasks at park facilities.

Working Conditions
Typical work activities involve prolonged standing, bending, stooping and lifting, Works inside and outside in varying temperatures, may have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and or loud noises. May work in remote locations as well as a fast paced environment.
May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing or pulling equipment and materials weighing up to 40 pounds; frequent walking on even and uneven terrain; works from elevated surfaces such as from ladders and scaffolding; maybe required to work in confined spaces. This position requires a Valid Class "C" California Drivers License.
