We are seeking a passionate and committed individual join our Culture & Operations team in the role of Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist.

Position Description

Aurrera Health Group offers a dedicated and fast-paced environment focused on helping a range of clients improve the health care safety net. The incumbent of this position will provide the primary human resources (HR) expertise for the company.

The Senior HR Generalist is one of seven members of Aurrera Health Group’s Culture & Operations team. The Culture & Operations team supports the operational and human resources needs of approximately 70 consulting services professionals working remotely across 18 states.

The Senior HR Generalist reports to the Senior Director, Culture & Operations and serves as the primary HR subject matter expert on this team as well as the main point of contact for day-to-day questions and support associated with the interpretation, administration and compliance of HR-related policies, practices and cases spanning the employment lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities:

Compliance:

  • Maintain knowledge of HR compliance requirements related to the employment of knowledge professionals working remotely across the U.S. (18 states and growing).
  • Provide input into HR workflows to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulation.
  • Facilitate communication about and training associated with employment related compliance obligations (e.g., anti-harassment).
  • Oversee employment record keeping, posting and retention systems and fulfill compliance reporting and related obligations.
  • Support compliance audit needs.

HR Policies & Procedures:

  • Monitor HR related policies and practices to ensure consistency with compliance requirements and recommended best practices that contribute to a workplace promoting practices of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Assist in creating and updating policies and designing supporting forms, workflow documentation and knowledge base resources (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Serve as the point of contact for HR policy and compliance questions and concerns.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Provide input into and implement the organization’s talent acquisition strategy and workflows.
  • Consult with managers about resource needs, job documentation and interview questions.
  • Source, screen, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Monitor applicant tracking. Perform or assist with qualitative pre-employment reference checks.
  • Provide work direction to the HR Administrator related to administration of hiring and offers.
  • Partner with Employee Experience team colleagues on opportunities to cultivate improved DEI and/or other targeted talent pipelines to reach company recruitment goals.

Employee Relations:

  • Case manage end-to-end employee relations, performance discussions, reasonable accommodations, open enrollment, separations and leave of absence matters.
  • Consult with managers in preparation for employee relations, performance improvement or separation related conversations. Participate in these meetings as appropriate.
  • Assist with employment investigations.
  • Provide input to the Director of Employee Experience about opportunities to improve employee engagement and two-way communication.

Performance and Compensation Processes:

  • Facilitate annual and ad hoc performance and compensation review processes and support associated training and communication.
  • Monitor labor market trends and raise opportunities to strengthen total compensation composition, positioning, and decision-making guidelines.

HRIS Administration:

  • Oversee day to day Oracle NetSuite/SuitePeople HRIS transaction management performed by HR Administrator.
  • Provide input into SuitePeople workflows that support the employment lifecycle (recruiting, payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, reporting, etc.).
  • Oversee employment data accuracy, integrity, and reporting. Leverage SuitePeople data and reports to support workplace projects, initiatives, and metrics (i.e.; performance management, development, engagement initiatives, retention).
  • Serve as an escalated point of contact for more complex timekeeping, time-off, payroll, benefit, and related inquiries.

Workplace Metrics and Insights:

  • Proactively monitor internal employment metrics, such as recruitment trends, workforce composition, retention, performance, and other related indicators of employment health.
  • Identify trends, analyze key drivers and raise opportunities for improvement to workflows, communications and other interventions that contribute to being an employer of choice.

Projects & Initiatives:

  • Support various ongoing and ad-hoc projects and initiatives (e.g., DEI, training/professional development, talent calibration, succession planning, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Employee Experience colleagues in planning and executing all employee meetings, retreats, development programs, etc.

Location

Aurrera Health Group is a fully remote organization and candidates from all areas of the country are encouraged to apply. The firm’s headquarters are in Sacramento, California, with a second hub in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Occasional travel to company events and meetings will be required, but the primary workstation for this position will be remote.

As a national firm, the Aurrera Health Group team works across four time zones and the incumbent of this position will be asked to support scheduling accordingly. Aurrera Health will work with candidates to establish a schedule of core work hours that meets the employee and the firm’s needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of training and hands on experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • 5+ years direct HR experience with 2+ years at a senior professional HR level with broad based experience administering policies, programs and projects that span the employment lifecycle (i.e., compliance, talent acquisition, compensation, pay/benefits, performance, professional development and employee relations).
  • Fluent with HR Information Systems; experience using Oracle NetSuite and/or SuitePeople is strongly preferred. Adept with workflow management, reporting and analytics with the ability to translate data into insights and recommendation.
  • Direct responsibility for monitoring and ensuring compliance with employment-related laws and regulations across multiple states; California employment knowledge will be given preference, as will experience working with consulting services professionals.
  • Adept implementing a range of DEI-focused talent acquisition strategies for professional service staff.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively while taking responsibility for independently prioritizing and organizing a continually changing landscape of tasks and demands.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, combined with strong time management skills and a proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated history of building trust with broad stakeholders, including team members, organizational leadership, vendor partners, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools – especially Word and Excel (candidate will be tested).
