The Senior HR Generalist will work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment to provide high-quality HR support to our internal and external customers through our Shared Services model. The ideal candidate must have prior experience and current knowledge of best practices related to HR functions, including HRIS, benefits, compliance, and employee relations, as well as the ability to work under limited supervision.
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment with the ability to multi-task, a high degree of integrity, an ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and sound judgement. Strong communication, time management, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to compile and analyze data are crucial to success.
The Senior HR Generalist will provide guidance and implementation of HR programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines while supporting personnel actions and responding to general HR queries from employees, managers, and company leadership.
Duties may include ensuring HR communications, forms, postings, and employee communications comply with federal and state laws as well as company policies and practices. This may include compiling research, auditing and reconciling reports, providing recommendations for process improvements, and effecting quick resolutions to assignments.
The Senior HR Generalist will assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Successful candidates must have the ability and desire to learn additional areas of expertise in HR and be willing to support employee relations matters as needed.
Responsibilities
- Administer various Human Resources plans and procedures.
- Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
- Consult with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Benefits administration to include communicating benefits information to employees. Assist in annual open enrollment.
- Oversee and authorize training.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Conduct onboarding activities (orientation, coordination of first day, background checks, etc.)
- Assist with the annual performance review process.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Maintain the HRIS including employee personnel records and reports.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or related field.
- PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM certification desired
- 4-7 years direct HR experience in employee relations, benefits, compensation, and compliance
- Strong communication, decision making, and collaboration skills required.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment with remote work and bi-weekly onsite requirements working from our Cambridge, MD, and/or McLean, VA offices.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
