We are searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the commercial finance segment of the business. The Senior Financial Analyst provides analysis and reporting on KPIs related to various business functions (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Stores, etc.) to drive optimal business decisions. This includes model creation and implementation of reporting, tracking of key financial data and analysis of business strategies. This position mines and analyzes data, partnering with the business to provide insights and recommendations.
This position sits in Grapevine, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Provide reporting and analysis for the leadership team regarding many aspects of the company's performance that will drive strategic business decisions and act as a liaison between FP&A and other internal business partners.
- Interact with key leaders to understand long-term strategic initiatives and model the impact in the long-term financial plan.
- Assist with the implementation & completion of the annual plan. Partner with various departments to incorporate information into the forecast and plan.
- Perform budget and forecast to actual variance analysis, investigation and commentary for the executive team and business leaders.
- Perform cost/benefit and sales promotions analyses including the use of ROIC, IRR, and ROI valuations.
- Perform what if, scenario and trend analysis to drive business decisions.
- Develop financial models to analyze business performance.
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with finance team and business partners to achieve goals, streamline and document processes & procedures, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is timely and accurate.
- Respond to data requests from multiple departments, leveraging a working knowledge of internal financial systems.
- Dissect business issues, analyze root cause, and provide recommendations in a simple yet compelling manner to finance, business partners and leadership team.
- Support special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed to provide analytical and decision-making support on new initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience required.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Ability to prepare and communicate compelling analysis for business partners.
- Experience with financial & reporting systems (SAP, Oracle Suite, SmartView, Adaptive, Power BI, Google Big Query, SQL).
- Expert knowledge of Excel and proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Proficient knowledge of business concepts and tools (financial statements, break-even, cost benchmarking, pricing, sensitivity analysis, NPV, ROI, etc.)
- Advanced technical modeling skills.
- Retail or Commercial Finance preferred.
