GOH is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are looking for an experienced event professional to support our federal clients.
Summary:
The Senior Event Coordinator will have a clear track record of experience supporting the daily operations of multiple concurrent events ranging in size from 50 to 1,000+. Must have experience using project plans and monitoring, maintaining, and updating timelines, completion of all deliverables associated with federal meetings and events, and assisting with the development and quality control of deliverables as needed to assure the timely and quality completion of contractually required deliverables.
The ideal candidate is located in the Washington, DC metro area or be open to relocation.
Background:
The Senior Event Coordinator will have the opportunity to support event tasks and deliverables actively and independently. Must be an excellent strategic communicator with experience supporting federal event support contracts. Candidate must be able to contribute to our positive and pro-active culture while working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and high-tempo team environment.
Requirements:Essential Functions:
- Serve as lead as needed for defined event projects with oversight from Event Manager; Support multiple concurrent events and contracts
- Monitor project timelines and task allocations
- Coordinate and collaborate across the event team to help manage tasks and timelines
- Assist with process documentation and quality control efforts
- Assure quality and timeliness of deliverables
- Attend and support kickoff and regular client progress or project meetings
- Contribute to client progress and status reports, expense tracking, and other reporting
- Support a variety of virtual and onsite meetings, events, and conferences
- Can easily adapt onsite events and logistics skills to virtual platforms and environments
- Draft event materials and correspondence
- Develop event websites, SharePoint sites, and information collection activities from start to finish
- Support and coordinate site selection, speaker and vendor management, and agenda development?
- Familiar with federal requirements (e.g. 508 compliance and FTR) and ensure clients are compliant with such regulations
- Assist with market research and drafting agreements for subcontractors, vendors, and consultants

Competency (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- This is not an entry level position, must have at least 4 years of prior experience supporting the federal government in an Event Coordinator level capacity to apply
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
- Advanced degree and/or certifications (PMP, CMP, and/or CGMP) a major plus?
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- MASTERY of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
- Must have advanced proficiency in a variety of virtual event platforms (i.e., Zoom, Teams, Connect, etc.)
- Must have advanced proficiency in a variety of event registration platforms, especially Cvent and Cvent products
- Must be comfortable being the primary resource at smaller in-person and virtual meetings (100 people or less)
- Exceptional communicator with ability to adjust communication style to individual personalities and needs of our customers
- Must be adept in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced customer-centric environment
- Must have experience supporting multiple concurrent events of all types and sizes
- Spanish language proficiency a plus
- Experience with video editing and graphic design a plus

Reports to: Event Manager
Work Environment: The work environment is a typical office setting or virtual/remote setting.
Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing, as well as potential extended hours of operation when required to support the onsite project requirements. Must be able to lift packages of at least 25 pounds.
Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods.
Travel: This position is primarily located in the Washington, DC metro area with approximately 20% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary.
Required education: Bachelor’s degree required
Additional eligibility qualifications: A minimum of 4 years of industry-specific experience required.
