The Role

GovExec is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our team. The ATARC Events team is leading the charge on organizing and executing high-profile, impactful events within the government technology sector, fostering collaboration and innovation. In this role, you will be a critical player in achieving seamless event execution and exceptional attendee experiences. As an Event Coordinator, you will report directly to the Event Manager.

The Event Coordinator will work alongside other members of the Events Team. Each coordinator is tasked with a certain amount of events that they are solely responsible for. This includes speaker acquisition, creation and updates to the website, and correspondence with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and hosts virtual and in-person events on important IT topics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for event partners, speakers, and attendees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assists with on-site event operations, including registration, staffing, and attendee engagement.
  • Invite and engage with top-level Government officials and industry experts to speak at events.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, sharing insights with the team and integrating innovative ideas into event strategies.

Qualifications

  • Able to reliably commute to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area 2-3x a month for events.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-driven, with a proactive approach to managing multiple events simultaneously and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Familiarity with Zoom, Google Suite, Salesforce, Eventbrite, and/or WordPress.
  • Previous experience with collaborating with team members via remote/hybrid work is a plus.

The compensation range for this role is $45,000 to $55,000 per year.
