At idfive, design is as strategic and results-oriented as it is beautiful. As part of the creative team, Senior Designers take the main stage, knocking out killer creative and incrementally raising the bar for design excellence. Collaborating alongside UX, Dev, Accounts, Strategy, and Copy, you’ll make all our client’s brand, print, and digital creative dreams come true—delivering clear and effective communication with expert awareness of our client’s brands, objectives, and methods for success.
WORK LOCATION
idfive is located in Baltimore, MD. We love Charm City, and it loves us back. A significant amount of our team lives in the city and surrounding areas, but fivers can be found all across the country.
While we love to get together, and meet for agency-wide events with both our out-of-state and local fivers, where you work is up to you, so long as it’s during our operating hours of 9–5 EST. If you’re within driving distance of the office, you may be asked to work from the office as needed for creative brainstorms or in-person client meetings.
BEFORE YOU GET HERE, YOU SHOULD...
- You must live in the continental USA and are able to legally work in the USA.
- Have a passion for design and 3–5 years of experience in a full-time graphic design or similar role—agency experience preferred.
- Be motivated to help mission-based clients do good in the world.
- Thrive in a tight-knit, collaborative atmosphere.
- Have a keen eye for design with a proven mastery of basic design principles and typographic skills.
- Be proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD.
- Have a strong understanding of hover states, micro animations, and how HTML will bring our ideas to life—no coding is required, but you’ll work closely with our developers.
- Have proven digital chops, including experience turning high-fidelity wireframes into prototyped XD design layouts and creating digital media campaigns.
- Be comfortable guiding internal and client teams through your work, including thought processes and rationale.
- Have strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Have an eagle eye for the smallest details.
- Be able to time-manage and successfully work on multiple clients and projects in parallel.

- Have worked on large-scale enterprise websites.
- Have a well-rounded portfolio that also includes print, brand, and logo design.
- Have additional creative skills including: video, animation, storyboarding, illustration, and photography.
- Are proficient in guidelines for accessibility on the web, including WCAG and Section 508 Compliance. Love storytelling and finding ways to bring emotion and heart to your work.
ON THE FIRST PROJECT, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO...
- Design a homepage for a large-scale university, nonprofit, or similar mission-based organization, building upon strategic direction set in the Discovery phase and following wireframes built during our UX phase.
- Follow a creative brief to produce concepts for a digital media campaign.
- Partner with the strategy, creative, UX, development, and accounts teams to be sure your work meets project goals.
- Support your recommendations with thoughtful rationale.
- Refine your recommendations against internal and client feedback.
AFTER SIX MONTHS, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO...
- Own an enterprise-level website design from the homepage to quality control, including desktop and mobile design considerations for all internal templates and a kitchen sink, interactions, micro animation guidance, recommendations based on user testing results, and quality control during the development phase.
- Own a digital media campaign from concept to production, keeping assets organized and maintaining quality control.
- Collaborate with other members of the creative team to deliver amazing work for our clients.
- Participate in internal and client brainstorming sessions or workshops.
- Balance multiple complex projects at a time, within varying stages of development.
- Help shape and grow the creative practice at idfive.
