Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Tower, Warren, MI, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of contract employees and individual contributors for one of the key areas within the Global Logistics & Containers Organization: Global Logistics LLP Operations. You will be responsible for managing the Ryder TRC, Penske OMC and IPC operations for GMNA trucking and GMSA part fulfillment.
GM is seeking a motivated individual to drive the North America Inbound Logistics team on new projects and on-going support of our Inbound material to Assembly and outbound containers to supplier networks. This position offers a great opportunity with a team focused on innovation, network optimization, and project management for North America and strategy globally
What You'll Do
Lead, train, develop, and mentor team of Ryder and Penske Clerks, Analysts, & Managers to drive on time delivery to GMNA assembly centers
Lead IPC team to oversee the Domestic Part shipment from NA suppliers to GMSA assembly centers
Oversee IPC shipping from DSV warehouse at Romulus Michigan operations
Lead Cross Functional Teams projects to optimize 3PL management of GMNA loads
Lead process improvements of Penske and Ryder networks to deliver quality performance for our Supply Chain and Logistics stakeholders
Manage weekly invoicing and contract cost to achieve annual forecast & budget
Develop strategic projects to improve the network and manage through complete business case development
Understand transportation network and opportunities for operations improvement that balance cost, service & quality
Drive organizational improvement studies & business cases
Work with 3PL partners to ensure that GM requirements are being met and projects completed on time and with quality
Maintain 3PL contracts and optimize negotiations balancing quality vs cost.
Comfortable managing large sets of data to perform studies of our network
Project management experience
Root cause issues to identify initiatives to improve processes across all teams
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, or related field required
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, not including internships and co-ops
Project management skills and proven experience leading projects
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with other cross-functional areas such as purchasing, engineering, manufacturing & supply chain.
Ability to drive long-term projects through to completion
Ability to travel 2-3 times a quarter within US, CA and MX
First shift work hours with flexibility to work extended hours and over the weekend
