The SkyGrid team is looking for a Sr. Airspace Integration engineer whose role is to lead the deployment of the SkyGrid services for various customers across the globe. As Airspace Integration engineer, you will report to the Airspace Integration manager and work in coordination with the Chief Product Office. You will cover a technical project engineering role with responsibility of the for the development and integration of the SkyGrid products with specific customer focus. Daily activities include: customer engagement, operational specifications, generation of customer requirements. The Airspace Integration engineer is knowledgeable of the airspace construct, rules of the air and understand the UAM operations in VFR and IFR.
Performance Objectives:
- Manage at least 2 customers
- Generate use cases and customer specific requirements
- Engage with regulatory or standard body in support of the SkyGrid deployment
Responsibilities:
- Be the forefront technical person during customer meetings and industry relevant events.
- During customer engagement activities, analyze customer operational scenarios, producing value proposition, additionally translating customer needs into use cases and stakeholder requirements for the system team.
- Contributes to the development of short term and long-term Concept of Operations
- Leadthe deployment of the SkyGrid services, coordinates with local authorities the requirements and activities needed to ensure secure and safe operations.
- Coordinate with other teams in the engineering organization (autonomy, system, software, testing), the development and the integration of functionalities with customers.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the airspace construct, FAA part 91, part 135
- Ability to deliver their vision and technical content effectively to all levels of sector experts or not.
- Previous experience (min. 5 years) in airspace company
- Knowledge of the CNS NAS services (traffic surveillance, navigation, communication)
- Has proven industry experience in the UAS or UAM .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work at, or in collaboration with, NASA, FAA, EASA, JARUS, RTCA in development or improvement or airspace systems, procedures, standards.
- Knowledge of the sUAS rules landscape.
- Understanding of NAS modernization effort (NAS Infosystem, Automatic Flight Rules, etc...).
- Knowledge of the CNS NAS services (traffic surveillance, navigation, communication)
