Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
As PIE (Process Integration Engineering) engineer, the role is response to product yield improvement, ensure quality and support mass productions. After internal training, product owner shall be able setup up NPI (new product introduction) independently, that is to setup process, define specification for unit process and estimate process window. Need good knowledge of process and semiconductor device to investigate product low yield issue, and review critical inline and electrical parameters. Good communication skill is important to collaborate across departments to drive task force.
Specific Job Duties:
• Work with tool and unit process owners to optimize the processes for yield improvement
• Setup and collect inline and physical measurements on the prototype lots
• Understand and verify the process control window using characterization, yield and cycling results.
• Understand the product design and layout to decide on product specific weak points
• Run customer sample silicon and determine the appropriate measurements to ensure the success of qualification and timely transition to mass production.
• Ensure the initial success of mass production with specialized DOEs and other safe launch procedures.
• Designs and runs all aspects of experiments to test hypotheses.
• Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization.
• Familiar with foundry style semiconductor manufacturing and logic semiconductor manufacturing.

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field is required.
• Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.
5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and knowledge of FINFET technology or other three dimensional device.
• Basic understanding of some unit processes including thin films deposition, lithography, etch, diffusion, wet process, Cu plating, and CMP.
• Basic understanding of the interactions between process and yield.
• Electrical Engineering, Materials Sciences, and Physics expertise within semiconductor field is required.
• Experience with LSI manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Yield or Process Integration in semiconductor manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Must have basic understanding of process flow in assigned areas.
• Experience with High-K Metal Gate technology is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
• Analysis skills, including yield analysis, electrical device characterization, yield issue investigations, data mining, DOE, and SPC
• Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and various statistics programs (i.e. JMP, Spotfire)
• Programming and/or scripting experience is a plus
• Must be capable of shifting focus and changing priorities - dealing with ambiguity
• Must demonstrate strong core values including: Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Quality, and Continuous Learning
• Must have excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
Must be able to work on different shifts based on project need
