Job Summary: As a Senior Accountant at Tech Systems Inc, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations related to Government Contracts. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of government accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Government Contract Accounting: Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting related to Government Contracts, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely f inancial information to management and government agencies.
3. Cost Proposal Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost proposals for Government Contracts, ensuring adherence to pricing strategies and compliance with contract requirements.
4. Audit Support: Serve as a key point of contact during audits by government agencies or external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure a smooth and successful audit process.
5. General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
7. Compliance Monitoring: Stay informed about changes in government regulations and accounting standards, ensuring ongoing compliance and recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.
8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including contracts, program management, and finance, to provide financial guidance and support for successful project execution.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting or a similar industry.
3. Thorough knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
4. Proficient in government contract accounting software and MS Excel.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
