We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Capability Program Navigator.

Job Summary:

As a Navigator, you will serve as a first point of contact for program participants seeking help with various program financial needs and tracking information related to these programs. This new position will primarily support the Foster Postsecondary Success program and the Homeless Youth Stipend Pilot program. As time permits, the Navigator may provide limited support to other Financial Capability Programs.

Essential Job Functions:

Community Navigation for Young People:

• Answering basic questions about Homeless Youth Stipend Pilot and Foster Postsecondary Success via phone, text, or email. Ensure timely and trauma-informed responses.
• Support youth in submitting required documentation for program participation and payment.
• As time permits, assist with navigation and tracking related to other Financial Capability work at Youthprise
• Support connection to appropriate financial institutions in coordination with community partners.

Data & Compliance

• Enter and track payment information in coordination with the OYN Manager and Finance team.
• Aggregate pertinent information (banking status; one time payment use) to share with Community Based Organizations, Minnesota State, Homeless Youth Stipend Pilot Researchers, and internal Youthprise staff monthly.
• Prepare monthly reports on funding expenditures by category.
• Other duties as assigned or apparent

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience:

No minimum education level is required. Ideal candidate has a demonstrated commitment to the community and experience working or volunteering in the nonprofit or education sectors.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Experience with Opportunity Youth (Foster Youth; Youth experiencing Homelessness; Young Parents; Youth in the Justice System; Youth who left school without a degree.)
• Basic data entry skills are strongly preferred.
• Strong ability to learn, ask questions, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail is important.
• Somali, Oromo, Spanish, or other foreign language skills are strongly preferred but not required.
• Passion and demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultural communities are essential.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care or mental health first aid is preferred, or openness to be trained.

Working Conditions and Environment:

• This is a hybrid position with the in-office component in an accessible office building that is smoke-free.
• Work is performed in an office setting, where the incumbent may be exposed to noise and a regular flow of people. Headaches, eyestrain, and other related occupational hazards reflect the most common potential for injury.
• Work is light duty and sedentary, with the ability to lift, carry, or push during setup for meetings and events.
• This position may be frequently exposed to mental effort and stress, assigned to changing priorities, and perform work requiring attention to detail under deadlines.
• The ability to operate and interact with computers or other office equipment via keyboard, mouse, or touch screen is required.
