Job Title: Senior Accountant

Immediate Supervisor: Financia Controller

Employees Supervised: 0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $70,0000

Job Purpose

Working closely with the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will assist with analyzing financial information, assist in preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.

Essential Job Functions

1. General understanding of General Ledger

2. Experience with month end and year close

3. Proficient with QuickBooks, Excel, and lntacct

4. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.

5. Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data.

6. Compile statistical or financial, accounting reports pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable.

7. Code documents according to company procedures

8. Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.

9. Experience with full-charge Accounts Payable preferred

10. Manage confidential information.

11. Regular and consistent attendance

12. Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge

• Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

• Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

• English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Complex Problem-Solving Skills

Desktop Computer Skills

• Spreadsheets Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.

• Internet Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).

• Navigation Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.

• Word Processing Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents.

• Databases Using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information.

Abilities

Must possess the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing; requires high energy level and the ability to work both independently and as a strong team member; requires the ability to determine tasks, priorities, and goals.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

• Accounting or Finance Degree required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting position

• Knowledge of the principles of accounting procedures (GAAP)

• Proficient with QuickBooks, Excel, and general accounting software

• Proficient with lntacct

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment while sitting at a computer screen for extended periods. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop. crouch, or kneel when working with files. Requires work with others in a group or team, coordinating or leading others in accomplishing work activities, may work hours during the evening and on weekends as needed. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds and regularly hear loud, repetitive noise.
