USmax is seeking a Senior Accountant to support back office finance and accounting functions.
The Senior Accountant must be knowledgeable and experienced in government contracting (GovCon) accounting and be involved in various accounting activities as a key member of accounting team while working closely with senior accounting management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Ledger (G/L) owner, and will be responsible for preparing and posting G/L entries, analyzing and reconciling G/L accounts, and assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assist with CPA firm and government audits.
- Review timesheets for accuracy and post labor costs.
- Upload timesheet data for 3rd party payroll processing.
- Prepare, submit, and post billings to clients.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable (A/R) to ensure timely payment by clients; contact clients for payment as necessary.
- Post cash disbursements.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget.
- Assist with the preparation of provisional billing rate proposals for submission to the government.
- Prepare the annual incurred cost submission.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Applicants must be US Citizen

3 years’ experience with GovCon cost structure.
2 years hands-on experience with CostPoint and the modules related to the above Duties and Responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration is required.
CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.
