AddressOur client in the Roanoke VA area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy along with strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Hollins, VA
Pay Range: $25 per hour
What's the Job?
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger activity for accuracy
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations within 45 days of close for cash, short-term investments, receivables, payables, payroll and fees paid in advance
- Book journal entries
- Assist with month-end and fiscal year end closes, financial statement preparations and audits
- Supervise two work-study students
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting and reporting policies and procedures, Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, detail, accuracy, organizational, problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Preferred experience includes Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, current CPA or pursuing CPA certification, proficiency with query tools (i.e. Power BI or Orbit), experience working in a higher education institution or non-profit organization, experience with Ellucian Banner ERP system
