About Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center (MIWRC)

MIWRC is a non-profit social and mental health services organization committed to traditional ways of being and support of Native women and their families. Founded in 1984, MIWRC provides a broad range of programs designed to educate and empower Native women and their families, and to inform and assist those who work providing services to the community.

Position Summary:

The Security & Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for protecting people and property from possible criminal activity and will greet, assist and provide direction and information to clients, visitors and other guests of the organization.

General Responsibilities

· Patrols and monitors area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.

· Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors people near the building.

· Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.

· Checks doors and windows to ensure the property is secure.

· Walks staff to their vehicles if requested.

· Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.

· Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.

· Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person’s visit and contacts appropriate staff so they can meet the visitor at the front reception area.

· Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.

· Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.

· Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.

· Performs basic filing and recordkeeping.

Requirements

· Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.

· Authoritative and excellent verbal communication skills.

· Excellent communication & customer service skills.

· First Aid/CPR Training, Narcan Training, De-escalation Training preferred but will train if needed.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

· High school degree or equivalent
