The Ramova Theatre, Taproom and Grill is a multi use space within a restored historic movie theater encompassing an 1500+ capacity live performance venue, an independent brewery, a 200+ capacity live performance and event space, beer garden, grill, and taproom.

Ramova is more than live music, food, and beer. Our team, and by extension this role, will be charged with building a company culture that will create experiences with and for the community at large. Ramova exists to support the southside of Chicago, the greater Chicago area and national music scene, and anyone from near or far who appreciates good music, beer, food, and drinks.

Summary: The Security Community Support will be responsible for the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior. A security representative must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our venues safe and problem-free.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Monitor and authorize entrance of people and equipment in the property
• Support with the removal of trespassers and disorderly guests/clients from the area
• Secure all exits, doors and entrances after end of operations
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
• Provide assistance to people in need
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
• Inform all members of senior leadership right away in the event of any incidents

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as security officer or guard
• Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
• Familiarity with report writing
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills
• Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems
• Experience with de-escalation techniques
• Trained in First Aid

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
