Position Title:Seasonal Membership Customer Care Representative
Department: Membership
Reports to: Membership Manager
FLSA Status: Part-time Seasonal, Non-exempt
Term: Mid-March–end of June 2024
Compensation: $20 per hour
Schedule: 35 hours per week; 7-hour shifts, Wednesday–Sunday
Position Description:
Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) seeks to fill a full-time, seasonal Membership Customer Care Representative position. This position reports to the Membership manager and is a key part of a team that serves over 20,000 member households. The Membership Customer Care Representative will sit in the Visitor Center and provide front-facing customer service to BBG’s membership base. In this high-volume membership office, the Customer Care Representative must possess excellent customer service and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist members while visiting the Garden. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Assisting with onsite sales
- Answering membership-related questions
- Organizing membership packet pickup
- Respond to member emails and prioritize urgent requests, including ticketing questions.
- Enter data in Raiser’s Edge, including updating members’ contact information and marking if members need new membership cards or package.
- Process online membership orders through Raiser’s Edge.
- Act as liaison between Membership department and Visitor Services.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Comfort working with people; friendly, outgoing personality
- Keen eye for detail
- Motivated, energetic team player able to prioritize and work independently, as well as interact with members and BBG staff
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other database desired
- Nonprofit experience, or strong interest in cultural institutions, environment, education, and or/science preferred
