Office of Cancer Health Equity - Program Manager, Strategic Planning & Partnerships (Hybrid)


The hiring entity is a part of the Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI), which is one of an elite number of National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country, and is a prominent, dynamic, growing and complex Institute within the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) was re-designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the NCI in early 2022, and is a prominent, dynamic, growing, and complex Institute within the Stanford University School of Medicine. The SCI actively works to build synergies and collaborations among faculty with cancer-relevant expertise from four Schools and over 30 departments across Stanford University.  SCI houses the office of Cancer Health Equity (OCHE). OCHE is responsible for carrying out community outreach and engagement efforts and activities on behalf of SCI through education, research integration and prevention. This position is for OCHE at SCI.  We are seeking a Program Manager to help us achieve our goals and objectives to reduce cancer burden in catchment area identified communities through outreach and education.  Given SCI's mission, breadth, and depth, we thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and forward-thinking environment with tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth.  You will be working with OCHE leadership which includes the Associate Director for COE and the Senior Program Director.


Duties include:

  • Execute product/ program plan definition, and detailed rollout schedule, including collaboration with internal stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop and execute a marketing plan, assessing, and revising as necessary to meet goals. 
  • Implement conversion strategy to meet product/program goals. 
  • Deliver an experience that leads to high customer satisfaction and advocacy for the program. 
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations regarding the direction of the program or product. 
  • Actively participates in efforts to improve processes, programs and business across the department. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants on specific programs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in public health, public administration or other relevant field.
  • 5+ years' experience in program management, Strategic Planning and/or process improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of health professions education, history including academic education environment.
  • Experience with partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skill, analytical skill and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal funding mechanisms, e.g. the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop).


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):


Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Experience with managing products/programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of various marketing elements (e.g. pricing, audience, channels, communication).
  • Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the target audience lifecycle and ability to convert leads into new business.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand. 
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Occasional work on evenings and weekends.

The expected pay range for this position is $86,000 to $115,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
