Job Summary
The college registrar is the administrator responsible for managing student information records, including academic results, graduation documents, education verification, financial accounts, and class enrollment.
General Accountabilities
- Develop and publish school information documents including, but not limited to, institutional catalog and class schedules.
- Create and implement campus-wide policies and procedures.
- Establish programs, courses, classes, and graduation requirements.
- Maintain inventory of books, laptops, scrubs, and other supplies the students, staff, and faculty need.
- Gather data and complete reports for all accrediting agencies (IPEDS, ABHES, BEEP, etc. )
- Manage instructor and graduation surveys.
- Accept student payments.
Student Management Accountabilities
- Responsible for student records and class enrollment.
- Assist the education department with new student events, including New Student Orientation.
- Facilitate the movement of students throughout their educational journey.
- Ensure that records are entered accurately and kept per privacy principles.
- Respond to student record requests.
- Maintain all students’ ledgers.
- Provide education and employment verification for active and former students.
- Conduct transfer credit and prerequisite evaluations for all incoming applicants.
- Counsel prospective students on required prerequisites per program.
- Issue transcripts, diplomas, and certificates at the time of graduation.
- Work closely with Financial Aid to ensure accurate attendance records, progress reports, and student status.
- Ensure students comply with attendance policies by reviewing students’ daily attendance. Inform Program Directors about students out of attendance compliance.
Professional Development Accountabilities
- Maintains compliance with annual continuing education as required by individual certifications and agreed upon during yearly employee review.
